Editorial Policy & Commenting Rules

  • Islanders’ Voice encourages the submission of articles, op-eds, letters to the editor, comments, and other forms of content to its blog from citizens across the political spectrum. Content posted on its blog will automatically be posted on its Facebook page. Direct comments are also welcome on the Islanders’ Voice Facebook page.
  • Submissions of articles and op-eds for Islanders’ Voice blog are limited to 1,000 words. Letters to the editor are limited to 500 words, with comments limited to 250 words. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Postings to the Islanders’ Voice blog are subject to prior approval by its editorial committee. Content may be rejected without comment. Content that is mailed will not be returned. Efforts will be made to approve or deny a submission in a timely fashion.
  • Submission of comments on the Islanders’ Voice Facebook page will be posted without prior approval.
  • Anonymous submissions, those with fictitious names, and those using profanity, hate speech, or libelous or threatening language, will not be accepted for the blog and will be deleted from the Facebook page.
