A second Boeing 737 MAX 8 disaster – this time in Ethiopia – all 157 passengers died instantly

• Second crash of the 737 MAX 8 in six months
• It is not clear if the cause of the crashes have anything in common
• The investigation into the Indonesia crash identified issues with the anti-stall features in the flight control software
• An accelerated April release of the updated flight control software has been mandated by the FAA
• While the NTSB and FAA continue to investigate these crashes, so far there has not been an investigation started by either the House or the Senate in DC
• Rick Larsen, D-WA was appointed the head of the Aviation Subcommittee earlier this year
• Two Senators – Dianne Feinstein and Richard Blumenthal – have requested that the 737 MAX 8 be grounded
• FAA and Boeing say that the 737 MAX 8 is still airworthy
• Boeing’s stock dropped significantly on Monday 3/19/2019
